A part of the company that started as a store under the name of "Ueshima Tadao Shoten" in 1933. It became a limited partnership in 1940 and in 1951, became "Ueshima Coffee Co., Ltd.". The company introduced the world's first canned coffee, "UCC Coffee with Milk" in April, 1969, which started the trend for canned coffee in Japan. The canned coffee gained notariety when mentioned in the feature fim the End of Evangelion and actually had a promotion with the characters on the cans. 

It formally became "UCC Ueshima Coffee Co., Ltd." in 1991 and has a property in Jamaica located in the Blue Mountains. In 2008, UCC's coffee estate was the first in the Caribbean to receive certification by the Rainforest Alliance and it provides a steady stream of Coffee Industry Board certified Blue Mountain coffee to Japan.
