Explore the jungle or take to the high seas

A day at Dolphin Cove offers so much for the entire family for those who want to play in the sun and give your children a day filled with fun.

Yes, we know that kissing a dolphin along with the thrill of swimming with sharks or stingrays are the main reasons to head to Dolphin Cove - but plan for an entire day if you’re headed to the Ocho Rios park.

There are quite a few other things for you to do to play the day away.

Call and make your reservation for the "Swim Adventure", "Royal Swim", or "Encounter Swim" and hear about all the other activities because there is so much to see and do!

The friendly staff will be there to help you figure out exactly what you would like to do.

Inside Dolphin Cove

Once you arrive, you may wander down towards the sea where you’ll discover the Pirate Boardwalk.

As you walk, you will find your way among the great shops and cafes where you can grab a nice lunch or simply enjoy some world-famous Blue Mountain coffee.

The beautiful wooden boardwalk leads to the nature trail and a little further on a wonderful place for a day of swimming.
Take the nature trail

You will wander under the shady, leafy green canopy of the tropical jungle to explore all that the trail has to offer.

Step into a small aviary and experience the thrill as tiny yellow birds flutter overhead and then when the staff places a little birdseed in your hands, try not to move as you become a human birdfeeder.

The birds will flit and land on your children’s heads and shoulders and eat right out of your family’s hands!

Trek a little deeper into the jungle with your guide and soon you’ll encounter fantastic island iguanas.

Ask about how they came to be there and if you dare, maybe you’ll even get to hold one as they gaze at you with their beautiful eyes.

Meet the beautiful macaws

Another beautiful experience to be had on the nature trail is the giant macaws.

There is so much for your children to learn about this giant bird with its brilliant red plumage and massive wing span.

The staff constantly takes photos so make sure to swing past the photo booth at the end of your visit to take home some memorable images, including a picture of yourself and your family with this giant bird sitting on your shoulder, pirate style!

Tasty frozen treats for the kids

After trekking through the jungle, a cool treat is always welcomed.

Maybe it’s not the way the original explorers in Jamaica did it but we suggest a delicious ice cream cone to chill out after your stint as an explorer in the tropics.

Cool off at Pearly Beach

Or you may take a walk to the “Pearly Beach” and enjoy the kayaks and roam the Cove just as the original explorers did years ago.

The difference is the equipment is more up to modern standards.

When you get back, you can head to shore to sit in the secluded private cove on the comfy beach chairs.

With great swimming for the kids and a view that begs you to come to dip your toes or lay out in the sun, it’s the perfect end to the day while you listen to the waves lap the shore.

It’s almost impossible to pack it all in one day, but not to worry, come back and visit us again anytime!

Dolphin Cove is an aquamarine park offering interactive and educational experiences with dolphins, sharks, stingrays, iguanas, macaws, a complete aviary, and other nature encounters.
