How to get to the Rio Grande

Getting to the Rio Grande is relatively straightforward.

From Kingston

Start by heading east on the A4 highway from Kingston, also known as the East Coast Highway.

Continue on the A4 as it passes through towns such as Harbour View and Yallahs, winding its way through the hills and coastline of St. Thomas.

After passing through Cedar Valley, continue on the A4 until you reach Port Antonio.

In Port Antonio, turn right onto the highway, which will take you eastward towards Long Bay.

After Long Bay, continue until you reach the town of Boston.

From Boston, follow signs or ask locals for directions to Rio Grande, which is nearby. 

From Montego Bay

Head east on the A1 highway from Montego Bay, the main coastal road that runs along Jamaica's northern coast.

Continue on the A1 as it passes through Falmouth and continues eastward, traversing towns such as Ocho Rios and Port Maria in the parishes of St. Ann and St. Mary.

After Port Maria, continue on the A1 until you reach Annotto Bay.

At Annotto Bay, turn left onto the highway, which leads southward towards Portland.

Follow through to Buff Bay and continue until you reach Port Antonio.

From Port Antonio, head east on the A4 coastal road towards Long Bay, and continue until you reach Boston.

Once in Boston, follow signs or ask locals for directions to Rio Grande, which is nearby.
