So what better way to warm up and make the dream a little more real than by mixing up a perfectly blended tropical cocktail with Appleton Estate Jamaica’s best rums. Well, all of their rums are excellent so even if you choose to go with the most affordable ‘Signature’ Blend, you know you’re in for a treat.
We thought we would share some Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum Cocktail Recipes to help warm up your nights, or Happy Hour, or Sunday afternoons, including ‘Joy’s Cocktail’ created by the Master Blender herself!
So whether you want to start getting in the spirit before you trip to Jamaica, are looking to relive some of the highlights of your trip or just want to kick back and imagine yourself sitting on a white sand beach, the impossible blue water of the Caribbean Sea tickling your toes with the perfect rum cocktail in hand, read on and choose your cocktail!
Joy’s Cocktail
RECIPE
1 part Appleton Estate Reserve Blend
3 parts Ginger ale
Slice of orange
5 drops Angostura bitters
Orange peel (garnish)
HOW TO MAKE
Squeeze the orange slice into a lowball glass and then drop it in the glass and muddle it.
Add ice and build in remaining ingredients and stir.
RECIPE
2 parts Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Year Old
1/4 part honey
1/2 part fresh lemon juice
HOW TO MAKE
Pour the rum, honey and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes.
Shake well, strain into a Coupette cocktail glass and serve.
The Jamaican Mule
RECIPE
1 part Appleton Estate Signature Blend
3 lime wedges
Two parts spicy ginger beer
1 dash Angostura bitters (optional)
HOW TO MAKE
Squeeze the limes into a highball glass, pressing them with a muddler.
Add ice and build remaining ingredients into the glass and stir.
The Estate Old Fashioned
RECIPE
2 1⁄2 parts Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Year Old
1/2 part sugar syrup
1 dash Peychaud's bitters
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 dashes orange bitters
Orange peel (garnish)
HOW TO MAKE
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with large cubed ice.
Stir quickly until glass frosts then strain into old fashioned glass over large block ice or ice sphere.
Finish it off with an orange twist.
The Estate Daiquiri
RECIPE
1 1⁄2 parts Appleton Estate Reserve Blend
1 part fresh lime juice
1/6 part simple syrup
Orange peel (garnish)
HOW TO MAKE
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a chilled Coupette glass.
The Estate Manhattan
RECIPE
1 part Appleton Estate Signature Blend
1/2 part sweet vermouth
1 dash Peychaud's bitters
1 dash orange bitters
Orange peel (garnish)
HOW TO MAKE
Add the first 4 ingredients into a chilled, ice filled mixing glass.
Stir 16 times and then strain into a chilled Coupette glass.
Finish it off with the twist of orange peel.
