A week in Jamaica

A week in Jamaica

You’re about to spend a week in Jamaica on vacation and, with so many things to do, you’ll want to pick a few ‘must-see’ spots to visit in between hours lazing in the sun on the beach.

If you’re lucky enough to fly into the north coast of Jamaica during the day, you’ll be greeted by views of the Caribbean Sea’s unbelievable shades of blue and the island’s lush green shores on your arrival in the bustling city of Montego Bay.

After landing, get whisked into your hotel's arrival lounge at the airport or Club Mobay luxury arrival lounge to start your holiday off just right.

However you’ve arranged to get to your hotel, just let the team know and they’ll come to get you as soon as your transportation is there to pick you up.

Set your itinerary

Spend the first evening of your seven-day vacation in Jamaica just soaking up the island vibes and adjusting to the fact that you are truly in paradise.

If you haven’t made all the arrangements already with your travel agent, have a chat with the tour desk at your hotel to sort out your itinerary for the next day, and then all you need to do for the rest of the night is eat, drink, and relax.

Day 1

Spend your first day on the beach to start off your island vacation on the right note, but then it’s time to go explore!

Head out for the afternoon to nearby attractions in Montego Bay like the historic great house of Rose Hall Estate, tour the grounds, and listen to the story of Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall.

The truly adventurous go for the night tour, when it is said her ghost walks the grounds.

Day 2

Leave the grandeur of the days of the past and head to the craft market, where you’ll get to talk to some local Montegonians.

Most are usually very happy to have a chat and learn a little about where you’re from while they show you beautifully-crafted items from all over Jamaica.

Make sure before you buy that you can take everything back home, for example, some places won’t allow those beautifully-polished conch shells back into the country.

Retire to your hotel knowing you’ve got everyone back home a lovely keepsake (just in case you forget, the airport has a range of items that make great souvenirs for anyone on your list).

Book a tour

If you’re in an all-inclusive, take advantage of the variety of meals and entertainment most properties offer and talk to your concierge or tour desk about tours, if you haven’t already organized beforehand with your travel agent.

They’ll be able to suggest some great excursions with companies like JTL, Island Routes, Chukka, or a few private, customized, one-on-one guided tours.

They all offer romantic, family-friendly, group, and solo activities.
Day 3- 5

Take the next three days to explore nearby Jamaican destinations and fun outings like Dunns River Falls, Mystic Mountain, and Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios.

Day 6

Head to Kingston for the day to visit the Bob Marley Museum or take the Kingston City Tour.

Maybe spend your last day in beautiful Negril, lazing around or walking along seven miles of white sand beach and enjoying a sumptuous Jamaican lunch.

Then head to the legendary Rick's Café to watch the famous Negril sunset and spend the rest of the evening partying in the gentle tropical heat with soft Caribbean breezes.

Day 7

Your last day should, of course, be used to simply relax, however that looks to you. Whether it’s kayaking on the turquoise waters in front of your hotel or lazing by the pool, there's something for everyone.

When you head back to the airport, have your pass to the Club Mobay or Club Kingston lounges already pre-booked to wait in comfort and make sure your return trip home is completely stress-free.
