If you're a fan of things that go bump in the night, book a trip to one of Jamaica's most haunted attractions the next time you're on the island.
The world-famous legend of the White Witch of Rose Hall, Annie Palmer, has made the Rose Hall Great House the scariest place to visit in Jamaica for most travelers.
However, there are a number of other haunted attractions awaiting your discovery across the island.
If you're up for the adventure, veer away from the sandy beaches for a day and explore Jamaica's best ghost tours at these seven most haunted attractions.
If you're traveling with toddlers or young kids, it may be best to leave them under the supervision of a nanny or playmate at the hotel or villa you're staying at.
Now let's get to the spooky stuff!
Rose Hall Great House
If you're really seeking a thrilling experience, book the night tour at the great house.
Your knowledgeable tour guide will transport you safely through the horrors of plantation slavery and the mysterious love story of the former homeowner, Annie Palmer who is said to have killed all her husbands and was subsequently killed by a slave who she became infatuated with.
Visitors have said that a tour of the haunted mansion at night may involve a few frightening encounters with the tormented spirits of slaves who were once subjected to the harsh cruelty of their European masters.
Greenwood Great House
While some parts of this haunted mansion have been modernized to preserve its beauty, the spirits of its former owners and guests still roam freely throughout its rooms.
There's a specific framed photo that visitors are shown during the mansion tour which captures a blurry image of a woman ghost who took a liking to one of the former owners.
Green Grotto Caves
All cave tours are not for the faint of heart and a tour of Green Grotto Caves is no different.
Expect to be submerged in a spooky underworld of magic as your tour guide walks you through the history of these caves that date back to the 17th century when Spanish soldiers would use it as a hideout to escape English soldiers determined to take full conquest of the island.
Duppy church
Located in the cool hills of Comfort Hall in Manchester, this abandoned Anglican church is said to be the meeting place for hundreds of tormented spirits at night.
Their nightly activities have creeped out and forced the exodus of the living congregation. The churchyard has a number of graves and tombstones that date back to the 19th century.
To this day, residents of the area speak about hearing the sound of musical instruments being played in the abandoned place fo worship.
Flat Bridge
The opening of the North-South Highway has been viewed as a blessing for many Jamaicans who avoid the treacherous Bog Walk Gorge.
At the center of the Gorge is a very narrow bridge that is said to have been built by former slaves of the Bog Walk plantation in the 18th century.
It is said that these slaves had to perform dangerous activities to construct the bridge, and some of them lost their lives during the work.
Ever since, Flat Bridge became the site of unusual, freak accidents.
Edinburg Castle
This attraction, built in Pedro District, St Ann by one of Jamaica's first recorded serial killers, Lewis Hutchinson, has been the site of some of the strangest occurrences in that part of the island.
It is believed that the former owner, Hutchinson would kill and bury the bodies of people passing by the two-story mansion.
When he was captured, tried, and hung, an official search of his home led to the discovery of several clothing items for men and women who seemingly fell victim to his sporadic attacks.
Luminous Lagoon
Some visitors to the Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth are creeped out by its natural wonder. It was formerly the site of a wharf where trade ships would unload goods.
After the sugar industry declined in Jamaica, the lagoon's unique glowing feature was discovered.
Depending on a number of factors, the water may display hues of blue and green known as bioluminescence.
